By Angus Lees

Rust is an interesting new programming language. The Rust compiler is written in Rust. This talk is a summary of the methods currently in use for bootstrapping new architectures and breaking build-loops, and how they might apply to Rust.

Since the packaging and upstream conversation is very much still in-progress, this talk mostly raises issues for discussion and doesn't present final solutions.

About Angus

Angus Lees is remembering how to be a Debian Developer, after being mostly idle for the last decade. You may remember him from such success stories as defoma and scoring slightly higher than Jonathan Walther during the 2005 DPL elections.
